This free fruit crochet pattern will help you make a realistic lime using yarn and a hook.
Since I really wanted to release a free crochet pattern for you in January 2024, I’ve mixed up a few of my other fruity crochet pattern shapes and created the Lush Lime! Can you guess which crocheted fruits helped me with this design?
Believe it or not, but the main part of the lime is the same as the Luscious Lemon (but smaller!), the leaf has been taken from the Appetising Apple, and the stems have been taken from the Optimal Orange. This concoction allowed me to quickly develop the pattern so I could get it published as soon as possible. I’m also very pleased with the result! Most importantly, I hope you like the Lush Lime and enjoy crocheting it. So, let’s get to it!

Lush Lime Crochet Pattern Information
Materials needed
- Worsted weight yarn in the following colours. For reference, I used Rico Creative Cotton Aran (amounts used are in brackets):
- Colour A – Lime Green (14 grams = 23.8 m / 26 yds)
- Colour B – Green (4 grams = 6.8 m / 7.4 yds)
- Crochet hook size 3.5 mm (E)
- Stuffing
- Needle
- Scissors
- Pins
- Stitch marker
Lime size
Using the yarn (noted above) with a 3.5 mm crochet hook, the Lush Lime turned out to be approximately 10 cm / 3.9 ” high and 5.5 cm / 2.2 ” wide. Please note the size of your make will vary depending on your hook size, the yarn you use, and your tension/gauge.

Gauge is not required for this pattern, however for reference my gauge was:
11 sc stitches on 5 cm / 1.96 “
11 rows on 5 cm / 1.96 “

Crochet top tips and additional pattern information
- Pattern level: Easy
- Yarn: The yarn choice is completely up to you, and you can change the yarn weight, material, and colours based on your own personal preference. Just be aware that the weight of your yarn may impact the hook size you need to use and also the size of your final make.
- Hook size: I recommend using a smaller hook size than recommended on the yarn label. This will stop the stuffing appearing through your stitches.
- Working in continuous rounds: This pattern is worked in continuous rounds (spiral) unless otherwise stated.
- Stitch marker: Use a stitch marker at the beginning of each row to keep track of the number of stitches.
- Stuffing: Unless otherwise stated, this piece is stuffed continuously throughout.
- Decreases: I recommend using invisible decreases throughout.
- Copyright: You are more than welcome to sell your crocheted creations using this pattern on a small scale. Lush Lime Assembly
Step 1:
Sew Stem Base to the Lime Base. The Stem Base should sit on the top R25 of the Lime Base. The stitches won’t match up properly, but let it sit as evenly as you can (it doesn’t need to sit straight – this makes it look a little more realistic).
Step 2:
Sew the top st of the leaf stem to a side stitch of the Stem Base. Choose any st on the side of the Stem Base to sew the leaf to. Then to finish off, sew the yarn tail of the leaf into the Lime Stem to hide.
See completed lime in image 4.
