This free crochet pattern for Cherries is an easy and quick make.
This crochet pattern for cherries was created as part of my crochet fruit collection. It’s one of the quickest crocheted fruits to make, and it looks great next to the Appetising Apple, Succulent Strawberries, and Beaming Banana.
This is an ideal crochet fruit pattern for any kids’ kitchens or potentially a great item to sell at craft fairs!
As always, if you’d like the ad-free version of this crochet pattern, you can purchase the PDF crochet pattern via my Etsy or Ravelry stores. Alternatively, you can get the free Cheerful Cherry crochet pattern below.

Additional Crochet Pattern Notes & Top Tips
- Yarn: The yarn choice is completely up to you, and you can change the yarn weight, material, and colours based on your own personal preference. Just be aware that the weight of your yarn may impact the hook size you need to use and also the size of your final make.
- Hook size: I recommend using a smaller hook size than recommended on the yarn label. This will stop the stuffing appearing through your stitches.
- Working in rounds: All parts within this pattern are worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated.
- Stitch marker: Use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round to keep track of the number of stitches.

R10: BLO 6 sc (6)
R11 – 20: sc around (6) – 10 rounds
Cut yarn leaving approximately 15 cm for sewing and fasten off.
Repeat R1 – R20 to make a second cherry, but do not cut yarn or fasten off. Instead continue to ** to join the cherries together.
**Using yarn tail from the 1st cherry and a tapestry needle, sew any 3 sts of cherry 1 to 3 sts of cherry 2. Ensure that the yarn tail from cherry 2 (that isn’t cut or fastened off) and is not sewn in this step and is on the outside of the cherry stem (not in the middle).
Continue to crochet R21 by starting from where you left off (before sewing) with cherry 2.
R21: starting in the next st, crochet around both cherries with 6 sc skipping the sewn sts in the middle (6)
R22 – 24: sc around (6) – 3 rounds
Cut yarn and fasten off.
Using a tapestry needle, weave yarn tail through FLO of 6 sc and pull tight to close gap. Weave yarn tail into cherry stem to hide.
Your Cherries & Stems are complete, now it’s time to crochet the leaf.
Cherry Leaf
Use Green Yarn.
Start: ch 7
Now we are going to crochet around both sides of the ch. Sl sts and chs are not counted in the total st count of the following rows.
R1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook 1 sc, hdc in next st, dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, 2 sc in next st. Now crochet back along the other side of the ch with sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, 2 sc in last st, sl st to 1st sc in round to join (14)
R2: ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st, sl st to 1st st to join (16)
Cut yarn leaving a longer yarn tail for sewing and fasten off.
Sew in starting yarn tail to hide.
Push the leaf so it curves inwards.
That’s your leaf complete. Now it’s time to sew the leaf to the cherry stem.
Final Assembly
Use yarn tail from leaf to sew the leaf to the cherry stem.
Sew 2 sts of the leaf to between R22 and R23 of the stem.
