Take a look at these four super quick and easy farm animal crochet patterns.

Just before Easter, I released four free farm animal crochet patterns as part of my latest Eggy Amigurumi Easter collection. This time, I went with a farm theme, inspired by the classic animals you’d find in a cheerful barnyard setting. From fluffy chicks to adorable little piglets, each design was crafted to be small, cute, and beginner-friendly—perfect for Easter baskets, springtime décor, or simply as fun additions to any amigurumi collection. I couldn’t be more delighted with how they all turned out, and I hope they bring as much joy to you as they did to me while making them.

All the farm animal crochet patterns listed here are available for free on my blog, making it easy for anyone to start crocheting right away. Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or are picking up your hook for the first time, these little farm friends are designed to be quick and enjoyable projects. Of course, if you’d prefer a neatly formatted PDF version, complete with step-by-step instructions and photo guides, you can find them available for purchase in my online stores.

So, without further ado, meet the Eggy Farm Friends in all their glory!

I hope you enjoy browsing through these crochet patterns, and I’d absolutely love to know which Eggy Farm Friend is your favourite! Let me know in the comments below—I always love hearing from fellow crocheters.

#1 Peter the Piglet Free Farm Animal Crochet Pattern

Free Piglet Crochet Pattern

Peter the Piglet is an easy and adorable farm animal crochet pattern that works up super quickly, making him a perfect project for beginners or anyone looking for a fun, last-minute make. His feet, ears, and curly little tail are all crocheted directly onto the body, meaning there’s minimal sewing involved—always a win in my book!

For my version, I used Sirdar Happy Chenille DK yarn, which gives him a soft, plush feel, making him extra cuddly. However, if you prefer a different texture or have a go-to yarn in your stash, you can easily swap it out for cotton or acrylic without any issues. Just be sure to adjust your hook size accordingly to maintain the right tension and shape.

Whether you’re making Peter as a gift, an Easter basket filler, or just adding to your amigurumi farm collection, he’s sure to bring a smile to anyone who meets him!

#2 Hetty the Hen Free Crochet Pattern

Free farm animal crochet pattern - Hetty the Hen.

Hetty the Hen is another quick and easy free farm animal crochet pattern that’s perfect for adding to your amigurumi collection. Just like Peter the Piglet, Hetty is designed with minimal sewing in mind, making her a fun and stress-free project. Her tiny feet and beak are crocheted directly onto the body as you go, which means less time spent assembling and more time enjoying the process.

While some minor sewing is needed to attach Hetty’s hen comb and tail, the extra effort is well worth it. These small details bring her charming personality to life, making her an irresistible addition to any farmyard-themed set.

#3 Stevie the Sheep Free Crochet Pattern

Free Sheep Amigurumi Pattern

Stevie the Sheep is another adorable egg-shaped farm amigurumi pattern, perfect for adding a touch of charm to your crochet collection. Unlike some of the other Eggy Farm Friends, Stevie’s pattern is rated at an intermediate level due to the unique stitch combination used to create his fluffy, textured wool. This special technique gives him that classic woolly sheep look but can be a little tricky if you’re not used to working with textured stitches.

That being said, don’t let the intermediate rating discourage you! The pattern includes clear, step-by-step instructions to guide you through each part of the process. Even if you’re a less experienced crocheter, you can absolutely give this one a go—just be sure to pay close attention to your stitch counts to keep everything shaping up correctly. With a little patience, you’ll have your very own cuddly Stevie in no time!

I have to say, Stevie is one of my absolute favorites from this collection, and I hope you love him just as much as I do!

#4 Cassie the Cow Free Farm Animal Crochet Pattern

Free Farm Animal Crochet Pattern - Cassie the Cow

Meet Cassie the Cow, a brightly colored and playful addition to the Eggy Farm Friends collection! This intermediate-level farm animal crochet pattern is perfect for anyone looking to add a bit of variety to their amigurumi lineup. Just like Peter the Piglet and Hetty the Hen, Cassie’s design keeps sewing to a minimum—her feet and ears are crocheted directly onto the body as you go, making assembly quick and easy.

The only reason this pattern is rated as intermediate is due to the color changes required to create her signature cow patches and the bobble stitches used to shape her little horns. If you’ve had some experience with crochet and are comfortable with simple colorwork, you’ll find Cassie just as enjoyable to make as the other farm friends. With her cheerful design and fun texture details, she’s a delightful project that works up quickly once you get the hang of the techniques.

If you’re up for a slightly more challenging but still speedy make, Cassie is the perfect choice. I hope you love her as much as I do!

That’s it for all the Eggy Farm Friends at this stage, but I may add to the collection in future! I’m thinking a horse and potentially a goat too. What Eggy Farm Friend free crochet pattern would you like to see next? Let me know in the comments below – I’d love to hear from you!
